The Record

What councils actually did

Flock Safety contracts are approved, amended, and ended by votes in public meetings. This chart is a running ledger of those documented actions: one block per decision, sourced on every entry. It is not a count of opinions, petitions, or protests. It counts recorded acts of government.

How to read it. Solid blocks are confirmed against a primary source or direct local reporting. Dashed blocks are pending verification: the action was reported, but we have not yet confirmed the council record, and they carry a stamp saying so until we have. Ended, rejected, amended, and approved are all counted, because the record includes towns that chose to keep or expand their cameras, not only the ones that left.

Why it matters. Every one of these decisions happened at a meeting any resident could attend, and most contracts on this chart came up for a vote because a renewal date arrived. Find your town’s renewal date in the jurisdictions directory, and if a decision is missing from this chart, send us the record and we will add it, cited to you or anonymously.

Updated weekly. Corrections policy applies to every entry on this page.
