Antioch Council votes on $2.1M public safety spending including ALPR systems

The Antioch City Council will vote on August 25, 2026 on several public safety and infrastructure expenditures totaling over $2.1 million. A one-year memorandum of understanding with the Antioch Police Officers Association includes a three percent cost of living adjustment for fiscal year 2026-27, costing $661,430. The council will also consider a sole source purchase from Axon Enterprise for automated license plate recognition systems, in-car cameras, and artificial intelligence assistant licenses for the police department, not to exceed $661,687.54 on a 49-month contract beginning October 1, 2026.
